Job Purpose:

Responsible for IT solution architecture design, that meets the business requirements. Activities involve creating solution architecture blueprints for the assigned system, work program prioritization, define standards for design and development, review requirements, including Non-functional requirements, solution review and risk management across projects/programs, to ensure timely delivery with quality and within budget.  

This position also plays a key role in driving innovation; create a digital strategy for the Line of Business and aligning business and IT strategy to ensure that everyone is aligned, in defining and implementing technical solutions for business problems. 

Accountabilities:

1. Responsible to design innovative and practical end-to-end technical solution of a system, in line with the business strategy and objectives of the LOB 
2. Collaborate with Solution Architects from other LOBs to identify synergies in solutions and to adopt and standardize common tools and technologies across organization 
3. Contribute to the development of architecture governance structures, methodologies and compliance activities of the organization 
4. Responsible to deliver artefacts, including Solution Architecture. Contribute and review Functional and Non-functional requirements, Technical Architecture, Interface specifications and high-level design documents. 
5. Responsible for breaking down the complex application requirements using functional decomposition and Domain Driven Design, identify Microservices and define APIs for the domains. 
6. Oversee development, review artefacts of projects across LOB/scrum teams in order to ensure consistency with design and architecture guidelines 
7. Provide strategic guidance to development teams and ensure that business goals and objectives are aligned 
8. Drive communication plan to educate stakeholders on the purpose and benefits of solution architecture 
9. Plan and execute proof of concepts to demonstrate feasibility of idea, complex solutions and cutting-edge technologies. 
10. Drive innovation, to ensure that solutions drive value to the business and customers 
11. Liaise with external 3rd party suppliers and internal departments / IT teams to collaborate and design and implement robust solutions and interfaces between applications 
12. Ensure system designs are manageable, maintainable, scalable, resilient, sustainable, cost effective whilst addressing business requirements 
13. Responsible for ensuring that all application Non-Functional Requirements are met, ensure thorough testing of NFRs and ensure corrective / preventive actions 
14. Assist in review of production readiness, prior to release of the application to Production. Make sure that the items under user acceptance certificate are tested thoroughly by the quality assurance team. 
15. Responsible to correctly apply across programs/projects and products the relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices. 
16. Anticipate project issues and risks before they occur, and work with the team to identify and implement solutions or mitigations with relevant stakeholders 
17. Lead root cause analysis of reported critical incidents in operational production systems and recommend/ ensure implementation of effective preventive actions to avoid repetition
